Paulo Dybala’s agent has arrived in the Capital and is expected to hold talks with Roma director Tiago Pinto over his future, which may well be tied to that of Jose Mourinho.

The 29-year-old arrived as a free agent last summer after leaving Juventus and his contract runs to June 2025, but there is a release clause believed to be set at €20m for Italian teams and just €12m for clubs outside of Serie A.

Despite numerous injury problems, he still managed to contribute 17 goals and eight assists in 37 competitive games, helping them reach the Europa League Final, which was lost to Sevilla in a penalty shoot-out.

According to several sources including Calciomercato.com and Sky Sport Italia, agent Jorge Antun is already in Rome and will be in the stands of the Stadio Olimpico for this evening’s season closer against Spezia.

A meeting is set with director of sport Tiago Pinto early next week and Dybala’s future could be tied to that of Mourinho, who is also awaiting showdown talks with club owners the Friedkin family.

There is a way of annulling the release clause and that is by raising his salary from the current €4.5m per season net to €6m.
