The Ducali sit bottom of Serie A after a 7-0 humbling at the hands of Juventus” data-scaytid=”7″>Juventus on Sunday, with Donadoni facing speculation over his future on the Tardini bench.
In an interview with Gazzetta di Parma, Donadoni was defiant, and insists he still has the backing of the board and his players.
“The fact that there is a desire to continue fighting together makes me even more determined to change things,” Donadoni declared.
“I have to thank the club, the Ghirardi family and the directors [for backing me], I’ll try to reach our goals.
“If there’s one thing I’ve never done it’s cry over what I had,” Donadoni explained in reference to last year’s squad which finished sixth, before slamming the media for the reaction to Sunday’s defeat.
“The players I have are who I’ve got, and I’m happy and excited to try and get the best out of them.
“I don’t like looking back.
“I’m sorry that after Sunday’s game some people have taken words out of context to use them in an undesirable way.
“These are bad, malicious people. People who think that their job is to embarrass other people.
“They’re small men, who I don’t like meddling.”
The former Italy CT also offered some mitigation for the Ducali’s start to the season, pointing to a lengthy injury list.
“It’s clear that when you have a squad, it’s because you think you’ll have to use it.
“That happens, but what’s happened to us no-one could foresee – we’ve had an incredible number of injuries.
“I’m thinking about Paletta, Cassani or Biabiany. Or Coda who we lost a few days ago.
“These things can happen unfortunately, and all you can do is draw on the resources you have available.
“We have experienced players, and from that point of view we must do better.”
