The former Italy CT was the favourite to net the job after ex-Juventus tactician Gigi Del Neri rejected an offer to take over.

Donadoni, sacked in pre-season by Cagliari, held talks with club officials on Monday and has subsequently agreed a deal until June 2013.

The former Milan and Italy winger will be presented to the media by the Serie A club this morning at 11.30 local time.

The Stadio Tardini outfit opted for a coaching change after the 5-0 loss at Inter on Saturday night. The side haven’t won any of their last six matches in the championship.

Colomba, who helped keep the club in the top flight last season, becomes the 11th coaching casualty in Serie A this term.
