Bologna’s Emanuele Giaccherini says new Coach Roberto Donadoni has ‘changed the mind-set’ at the club, reminding players ‘to enjoy themselves.’

The former Parma boss succeeded Delio Rossi on the Rossoblu hotseat last month and has had an immediate impact, recording consecutive wins against Atalanta and Verona without conceding.

Giaccherini, who is currently on international duty with Italy ahead of Friday’s friendly against Belgium, praised the new Coach’s work so far.

“Donadoni has worked a lot on our mentality, turning the team round in a short time,” he said at today’s Press conference at Coverciano.

“He gave us the right mind-set and made us feel freer, reminding us that they were only football matches and that you need to enjoy yourself.

“I’m sorry for Delio Rossi, who is a very well-prepared Coach who paid for a difficult moment.

“Destro? He has the quality to play at the Euros. He has great qualities but in the first ten games of the season he suffered physically and mentally.

“In the last two games though, he did great things, sacrificing himself for the team as well.

“Donadoni now doesn’t ask for goals, but to work for the group. The goals will come.”
