President Silvio Berlusconi refused to confirm whether Allegri would still be on the bench next season, despite the fact he has a contract until June 2014.
Pep Guardiola is the ideal candidate, but the Rossoneri face a bidding war with clubs such as Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and even Roma.
According to Tuttosport, Milan have targeted Donadoni as the next man in charge at San Siro.
He would fit in with the club’s history, as Donadoni was a member of the Grande Milan of the 1980s and early 90s that dominated world football.
The former winger won six Scudetti, four Italian Super Cups, three Champions League trophies, three European Super Cups and two Intercontinental Cups.
The 49-year-old also has international experience after a two-year stint on the Italy bench.
However, Parma are not eager to release Donadoni and he has a contract with them until 2015.
