Di Vaio, born in July 1976, has been playing some wonderful stuff this season for Bologna and his brace at Juventus on Saturday saw him move up to third in the Serie A scorers' charts.
Having netted 16 top-flight goals so far this term, it doesn't come as a surprise that some are touting him as an Azzurri candidate.

"To return to the national side after so many years and at my age would be a fairytale," he told Radio Monte Carlo.
"If the call came for a friendly game at the end of the season then I would be honoured and it would be a great joy for me."
Nevertheless, Di Vaio knows that he has little chance of representing his country in Italy's Euro 2012 campaign.
"Italy boss Prandelli is constructing something new, he's starting a new era," continued the man with two international goals in 14 caps.
"He has some important attackers at his disposal, young ones, from which he will count on," he added.
"At this point in time the Coach needs to understand who can be a part of his future squad."
Di Vaio made his Azzurri debut in a 1-0 win over Morocco in September 2001. His last game appearance came in October 2004 in the 1-0 loss at Slovenia.
