“Is this game different for me?” Di Francesco considering on Tiki Taka.

“Honestly, no. It’s nice to see so many friends, but it’s not the first time it’s happened. It’s a pleasure to face Roma, they’re one of the great teams I’ve never beaten so we’ll have to try on Wednesday.

“Roma have great qualities, we need to think of our own identity, our strength is to get the ball forward quickly when attacking.

“They attack with a lot of players, but that also leaves space for fast counter-attacks, which we’re good at.

“I have a lot of young lads, some of whom also come from the lower divisions so they want to improve and show what they can do. They have great desire.”

Last season’s match at Stadio Olimpico saw Roma captain Francesco Totti playing with a ball boy rather than on the pitch…

“If he plays with the ball boys we’ll all be happier!”
