“The Viola are such a strong side and are pushing for Europe. By signing Luis Muriel in January, they sent a very clear signal of their intent,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We are Chievo, we are playing at home, we’ve got to make up for a defeat and I see the players fired up. In order to beat Fiorentina, we need the best Chievo.

“I am an optimist, but also a realist. I’m optimistic because I see the lads every day in training, but also realistic because I see what the Serie A table looks like.

“I expect a performance that is determined and slightly crazy. You can go far with a healthy dose of madness, letting go of pressure and calculations, all things we cannot be burdened with in our situation.”

Sofian Kiyine and Mattia Bani are both suspended, with Fabrizio Cacciatore and Joel Obi injured.

Chievo squad for Fiorentina: Caprile, Semper, Sorrentino; Barba, Cesar, Depaoli, Frey, Jaroszynski, Rossettini, Tanasijevic, Tomovic; Burruchaga, Giaccherini, Hetemaj, Radovanovic, Rigoni; Djordjevic, Grubac, Leris, Meggiorini, Pellissier, Pucciarelli, Stepinski, Vignato
