Chievo are relegated to Serie B after 11 seasons in the top flight with their defeat to Napoli. “From tomorrow, we turn over a new leaf,” said Mimmo Di Carlo.

Their drop down had seemed inevitable for months, especially as they started the season with a three-point penalty for financial irregularities.

“We are a little disappointed, but from tomorrow, we turn over a new leaf,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after a 3-1 home defeat.

“We are a little disappointed, but from tomorrow, we turn over a new leaf,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after a 3-1 home defeat.

“Napoli put their best team out there today and we were missing seven players. We did all that we could. I’m glad Bostjan Cesar got that consolation goal at the end and I hope it’ll give the team courage for the final weeks of the campaign.”

Di Carlo revealed he had some words of advice for Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti at the final whistle, preparing for the Europa League quarter-final with Arsenal.

“I told him to ‘crush them.’ I do wish them all the best for Thursday, as if Napoli raise the tempo, they can turn the 2-0 deficit around.

“They’ll need the perfect performance, but with the help of the Stadio San Paolo crowd, they’ve got what it takes.”
