Inter are working towards extending Milan Skriniar’s contract as they look to ward off interest from the Premier League.

The 27-year-old Slovakian centre back’s contract expires with the Nerazzurri in 2023 and so it’s necessary to put pen to paper on a renewal now in order to avoid a possible departure next season. Skriniar has been a core player for Simone Inzaghi and it’s clear that he’ll continue to be a rock in their defence for years to come.

As detailed by Calciomercato.com, Inter are looking to extend Skriniar’s contract to 2027, setting his salary at around €5m net per season. They are hoping that this will ward off, or at least put them in a better position to deal with, interest from the Premier League.

In the coming weeks, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio will meet with Skriniar again as they look to close out a deal. The player himself is keen to extend his stay in the Lombardy capital and so no major obstacles are expected.
