Although authorities banned anyone resident in Frankfurt from attending the game with Napoli tomorrow, it’s reported circa 400 Eintracht fans are making their way to Naples through Salerno, Bari and Bergamo.

The second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 tie kicks off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Wednesday at 20.00 GMT.

As there were already clashes before the first leg, with Napoli fans ambushed in the street or at cafes, the local authorities decided to bar attendance for all fans from Germany.

That was initially struck down on appeal, so limited to anyone born or resident in Frankfurt.

Nonetheless, there are fears the Eintracht fans are determined to be in the city for the match, as circa 300 were already spotted at a train station in nearby Salerno.

More groups are believed to be making their way towards Naples, having entered Italy in Bergamo and Bari.

Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo recorded a video message urging fans “don’t fall for any provocation. We must all make this a happy day, without any arguments with people who arrive in the city. Not just at the stadium, but in the streets, the squares, anywhere in our marvellous city.”
