Les Bleus are one of the favourites to win the 2018 World Cup, which kicks off in two weeks, and beat an experimental Azzurri side 3-1 in tonight’s friendly.

“We allowed Italy more scoring opportunities in the second half, but we also have this ability to go on rapid counters and create many chances going forward,” the Coach told French TV.

“We must be more efficient and clinical to finish them off. The players showed the right mentality over this friendly and against the Republic of Ireland, but now the last part of the World Cup preparation awaits us. Let’s not get over-excited.

“We have to keep the team’s enthusiasm and ambition up. We don’t do everything perfectly yet, but for the moment it is satisfactory.”
