Barcelona new boy Ousmane Dembele has reportedly earned a starting place against Juventus on Tuesday.

According to Sport, Barca boss Ernesto Valverde “was given a very pleasant surprise” by Dembele via his debut cameo against Espanyol on Saturday.

The winger – a club-record, €135m signing from Borussia Dortmund – entered Camp Nou for the final 20 minutes and assisted the Blaugrana’s final goal in a 5-0 victory.

His performance was described as one that showcased his “speed, dribbling and an ability to link up with his teammates.”

The newspaper explains the 20-year-old has arrived at Barca “in excellent condition”, despite going on strike at Dortmund, which saw him miss over a week of training.

Furthermore, he has needed “only a couple of complete training sessions” to adapt to his new surroundings.

Facing him on the Catalans’ left wing is likely to be Mattia De Sciglio after Stephan Lichtsteiner was excluded from Juve’s Champions League squad.
