The first leg in the Champions League Round of 16 tie is in Lyon on Wednesday at 20.00 GMT.

“There are a lot of expectations for my first Champions League goal, but there’s no pressure on me. I want to play my game, doing my best for the team,” said the 23-year-old in his press conference.

Although he has scored 20 goals in 38 competitive games for Lyon this season, he has so far failed to find the net in six Champions League outings.

“I am physically in good shape and try to do my best both before and after training to ensure that I am at the top of my game.”

Dembele was asked about 26-year-old Olympique Lyonnais teammate Houssem Aouar, who has one goal and two assists in four Champions League games.

“He is motivated, doing well and will play a great game for the team. He’s a wonderful player and we are happy to have him with us.”
