The Liverpool and Italy striker has yet to score in the Premier League this season despite having the most shots on goal and his attitude is raising eyebrows.

“I don’t feel I am in any position to judge Balotelli. I hope he can rediscover himself in English football,” said Del Piero in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If anything I can give a general overview that also applies to Mario. Between the mind and technique, the mind is more important.

“You need to send a signal to the outside that you are really involved. It’s important, as it shows you are playing with heart and giving your all, trying to do the right thing.

“You have to put yourself up for the challenge every single day. Face every training session as if it were a Final.

“If you improve just to a small degree in your day-to-day behaviour, then at the end of the day you’ll get a result.”

Ex-Juventus star Del Piero is currently playing for the Delhi Dynamos in the new Indian Super League.
