Alessandro Del Piero has welcomed new Coach and former teammate Antonio Conte to Juventus. “Welcome back, Antonio.”

The new boss was presented to the media today after signing a two-year contract, seven years after he ended his playing career in Turin.

“First of all I would like to salute and thank Gigi Del Neri,” wrote Del Piero on his official website.

“Regardless of how the season ended, the person and the Coach deserve recognition.

“As for Conte, I need say very little at the start of a journey that I hope will be as long and victorious as possible.

In Italy the Coach is generally referred to as ‘Mister,' so it is a show of respect from Del Piero.

The two men played together at Juve from 1993 to 2004, winning five Scudetto titles and the Champions League.
