It's no secret that Marotta had openly considered Del Piero's departure at the end of this season as part of his strategy for the club, but things have changed.

The 36-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and has been practically ever present in Gigi Del Neri's side.

Nevertheless, Marotta and Del Neri are looking to reinforce the attack in the summer with one of Diego Forlan, Karim Benzema and Maxi Lopez.

The question is whether Del Piero would settle for a place on the bench in light of their arrival.

Del Piero has expressed his desire to play in Juventus' new stadium and the board of directors expect him to take a pay cut in order to stay at the club.

It remains to be seen whether he accepts Juventus' new terms amid interest from the MLS and the Bundesliga.
