The Bianconeri have reached the final of the Champions League or European Cup, but have only managed to win it twice, losing 4-1 to Real Madrid in Cardiff last year.
“As Juventus we’ve never been lucky in the Champions League,” Del Piero, the club’s all-time top-scorer and appearance maker told Tuttomercatoweb.

“As Juventus we’ve never been lucky in the Champions League,” Del Piero, the club’s all-time top-scorer and appearance maker told Tuttomercatoweb.
“We’ve reached the final many times but only won in two of them. No Juventus fan wants to remember the one in 1985 [due to the Heysel disaster], while the one in 1996 was the best for many reasons.
“It’s not easy to find an explanation. In recent years Juventus have gone to the Champions League final twice in three years, and in the third we went out in the 94th minute against Bayern Munich.
“It’s hard to understand, even when I played we often reached the final, it’s an issue.
“We can say that for the finals reached and the size of the club, Juventus deserved more in the Champions League.”
Del Piero was part of the team that won in 1996, and in total he scored 290 goals in 705 games for the Old Lady.
