Gigi Del Neri believes Alessandro Del Piero is still Juventus' point of reference even going into his 36th year.

Del Piero celebrated his birthday today and has been practically ever present under Del Neri so far this season.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's match against Brescia, he said: "I have still not seen Alex today, but I have sent him my wishes.

"Del Piero, Krasic or Del Neri haven't made the different in this period. Juventus have done it all.

"But for us Alex is a reference point. If he maintains this energy, this enthusiasm, he can still play at the highest level."

When asked about Juventus' nine-match unbeaten run in all competitions, Del Neri said: "I didn't look at the table before and I don't look at it now.

"We have to improve. We must play like we did on Sunday, suffering to get important points.

"The game against Brescia is important for our progress. They are healthy. They drew at San Siro against Inter.

"It will be a battle."
