Roma will reportedly look to Juan Cuadrado only if Mehdi Benatia is sold to Manchester City and a replacement defender is signed first.

The Giallorossi have been listed as one club with interest this summer in making a move for Fiorentina’s highly rated Colombian winger.

However, with the player registering a high valuation price upwards of €30m, Roma are seen as only prepared to make a move once other affairs are sorted and subsequent funds rasied.

However, with the player registering a high valuation price upwards of €30m, Roma are seen as only prepared to make a move once other affairs are sorted and subsequent funds rasied.

The Gazzetta dello Sport indicate that along those lines Roma are ready to sell Mehdi Benatia, with Manchester City strongly linked, but only at a price set between €35m and €40m.

It is also understood that on from any sale of the Morocco international, the capital club’s first priority would be to sort out a replacement in defence.

Whilst City’s own Matija Nastasic is seen as the club’s first choice, his Premier League owners are believed reluctant to move him out, leading to the suggestion that a move for either Lille’s Mark Basa or Aston Villa’s Ron Vlaar would be more likely.

Only then is it believed that Roma would be ready to make a move for Cuadrado.
