Udinese begin an interesting new initiative, as tomorrow against Roma their main shirt sponsor will be a painter and decorator.
The club launched ‘Dacia Sponsor for a Day,’ which gives small businesses the opportunity to grace the team jersey for one Serie A match.
The first business chosen is ‘Michael Nino: Imbianchino’, a painter and decorator from Villadossola, Verbania.
The 26-year-old has had a van for six years, travelling round northern Italy to specialise in painting and dry-wall.
On Sunday October 27 his name will be the main sponsor on Udinese’s jersey in the Serie A showdown with Roma.
“I play football at a local amateur level in Piedimulera. I didn’t make it as a professional player, but now I can’t believe I’ll be on a Serie A pitch as sponsor of a team like Udinese.
“This makes all the effort and sacrifice worth it.”
