The Neroverdi are yet to pick up a win after the resumption and sit 12th the League, conceding 10 goals in their last three matches, but were lucky to get a point through Rogerio’s goal seven minutes into stoppage time.

“Even in the first half we created something, despite the slow pace due to the heat” De Zerbi said in the mixed zone after the match.

“We had 20 attempts, three times as many than Verona and we created twice as many big chances than them.

“But despite this, we conceded three goals. It annoyed me because they were avoidable goals. There are moments when we decrease intensity mentally. It’s the most prestigious championship and you will get punished by the slightest error, we can’t make simple errors.”

Jeremie Boga came on after the break to score a brace against Verona and the coach admitted the decisive attacker started on the bench due to his first two performances after the break.

“Boga started on the bench because he played badly in the other two matches,” the coach confessed. “When he’s committed, he plays and makes the difference. If he’s not, he watches the game next to me.”
