The 26-year-old played the full 90 minutes at the Ennio Tardini and was ‘happy’ to help Inter’s comeback in the dying minutes after Gervinho had scored the opener after 15 minutes.

Stefan de Vrij equalised in the 84th minute, before Alessandro Bastoni turned the game around three minutes later, making sure Gagliardini, who had received criticism for his big miss against Sassuolo four days prior, could smile again yesterday.

“Today, I’m happy,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “This win was important. It came after a big mistake.

“I’m happy with the win. Usually, you never dedicate victory to the parents, but this time I owe to them, whom I wish a world of good.”

Inter are back in action against Brescia on Wednesday and currently sit eight points behind league leaders Juventus.
