The Azzurri were held to a 1-1 draw with Luxembourg on Wednesday evening, and after missing a host of chances, the Milan defender has admitted that they need to get their shooting boots on in time for Brazil.

“We need to improve in attack,” he told Rai Sport after the game. “But I’m sure that will happen.

“I thought we were the better team throughout and got caught with a sucker-punch late on.

“We are trying a new game that needs time to fins its balance. It’s a formation that focuses on the central areas and then trying to exploit the flanks.”
