Mattia De Sciglio hopes his Milan side can overcome their derby disappointment and beat Lazio this Saturday.

The Rossoneri missed a host of chances as they drew 1-1 with Inter last weekend, but the 20-year-old is confident that they can forget about those two dropped points and go on a run that will secure them a Champions League place – starting against the capital club.

“I could not fully enjoy the derby because we stopped playing after the first half,” he told the club's official website.

“When we wasted the opportunities we had, then the opposition are always likely to get back in the game.

“In the dressing room afterwards everyone was disappointed by the result.

“There are teams like Lazio and Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”7″>Fiorentina that will fight [with Milan] for third place. There are a lot of games to go, but we have to remain focused and try to get as many points as possible.

“Now we play Lazio – and we have to win because it's a game against a direct rival.

“However, if we play like we have done in the last few games, then I'm confident we can bring home the victory.”
