Mattia De Sciglio’s agent has backed the youngster to be one of the leading talents in Italian football.

But the 21-year-old’s representative has insisted that with those knocks behind him, the full-back can go on to be one of the very best.

“De Sciglio has a great future ahead of him,” Giovanni Branchini told Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

“His age, personality and characteristics all mean he can be the best.

“Even with all his experience in the Champions League and with the national team, Mattia still has so many of his best years to come.

“Whenever he’s been called up, he’s always done well – even in the Confederation Cup.

“More or less all of his Coaches have focused on Mattia, ever since the Primavera.”
