According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, SPAL will sack Daniele De Rossi, only four months after his appointment.

The former Italy international has won three of his 17 games in charge of the Serie B side, losing the last three in a row.

Gazzetta reports President Joe Tacopina has now decided to sack him and hire Massimo Oddo.

Both Oddo and De Rossi won the World Cup with Italy in 2006.

Tacopina will be in Italy on Tuesday and seemed initially willing to give De Rossi one last chance to turn things around.

However, he is reported to have changed his mind, so SPAL are expected to confirm De Rossi’s sacking in the coming hours.

SPAL are currently struggling in the drop zone in Serie B, one point below Brescia.

De Rossi won three league matches this season, drawing six and losing seven. He also lost a Coppa Italia match against Genoa in October, shortly after his appointment.
