Roma will be without Daniele De Rossi for at least four weeks after he was diagnosed with a calf strain.

The midfielder rushed his return from a calf problem in order to feature in the final minutes of the 2-0 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.

That proved a costly mistake, as he aggravated the injury and was spotted limping heavily as he left the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night.

Roma released a statement confirming De Rossi has a Grade I lesion to the soleus muscle in his left leg.
