“I was strangely confident we could get a result like this, despite my friends in Rome betting their houses on Belgium! I told them to be careful, as Italy are organised and worked really hard,” the Roma midfielder told Sky Sport Italia.

“We have formed an incredible group. I’ve been in the Nazionale since 2004 and I’ve never seen such a great bunch of good lads, as they all think of the group and not about themselves. They are really pleasant to be around too.”
