Atalanta midfielder Marten de Roon believes Manchester City have “something extra” compared to Juventus and remembers his equaliser against them.

City are top of their Champions League group with Atalanta ahead of the two sides facing off this evening, and De Roon believes his side are about to face their biggest challenge yet.

“We’ve prepared well to play against them, we know their quality,” he said at a Press conference.

“We’ve already played against good teams like Juve and Napoli, but City have something extra.

“We have to give it our best shot, then we’ll see: we must believe in our game and our quality.”

The Dutchman has already played the Premier League giants, scoring an injury-time equaliser against them in a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough during the 2016-17 campaign.

“I remember it very well, the joy with our fans was something I’d never seen before. It was one of the best moments of my career,” he added to Sky Sport Italia.

“Everyone here suffers for 90 minutes. In the game where I scored, they missed 5-6 easy chances and then we managed to equalise.

“Several teams go to City to defend, but we want to play our game and try to attack. In the box, they’re the best in Europe but we want to try to hurt their defense.”
