“Juve are one of the strongest sides in Europe, but you never know what might happen in football. We want to get points,” De Paul told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I already met Paulo Dybala at Palermo and we stayed in contact. I had offers from a club in a big city, but I spoke to the new Coach and decided to remain with Udinese.

“Everyone here likes the way Julio Velazquez plays his football, as we keep the ball and show a lot of intensity, but we must do more on the field.”

The 24-year-old winger has contributed four goals and two assists in seven Serie A games this season, enough to earn his first ever call up to the Argentina squad.

“I couldn’t sleep for the sheer joy of the news. It’s the best thing that has happened to me in my football experience. If Mauro Icardi had difficulty getting called up, imagine what it was like for me!”

As for his life off the field, that is going swimmingly too.

“In January, during the Serie A winter break, there will also be a daughter arriving. Camilla and I were accustomed to treating our dog like a baby, but now we’ll have an actual baby to coddle.”
