Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis did not meet Luciano Spalletti or the squad after their draw with Salernitana, immediately leaving the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

The Partenopei had the opportunity to mathematically confirm their first Scudetto in 33 years yesterday following Lazio’s 3-1 loss to Inter, but Spalletti’s side failed to find victory in their Campania derby, being held to a 1-1 draw at home by the Granata.

Napoli will now have to wait until Wednesday or Thursday this week to possibly win the title, dampening the mood slightly in the Campania capital after the preparations for the weekend.

As reported by local newspaper Il Mattino, De Laurentiis was more surprised than disappointed after Napoli were held to a draw by Salernitana, and he immediately left the stadium following the full-time whistle.

The Partenopei president did not come by to speak to Spalletti or the team, but this was reportedly due to his desire to try and beat the traffic, not wanting to be stuck at the stadium.
