Aurelio De Laurentiis hits back at Andrea Pirlo saying he should ‘stick to coaching’ after the Juventus boss complained about Napoli's successful appeal against their 3-0 forfeit defeat against the Old Lady.

The Partenopei won their appeal to CONI this past Tuesday with the game against Juventus that will have to be replayed.

Napoli hadn’t shown up in Turin for their game against the Bianconeri on October 4 because they had two players positive for COVID. The Azzurri received a 3-0 defeat by default and a one-point deduction, but the decision has now been overturned.

“It’s not a problem to play the game, I’m sorry for those teams who had 4-5 cases of COVID and had to play the game anyway,” Pirlo said at a press conference after Juventus’ 3-0 defeat against Fiorentina on Tuesday.

“Pirlo should stick to coaching,” De Laurentiis replied in an interview with Radio Capital.

“The club’s representatives and the Head of Communication should comment on a state ruling.

“Pirlo said what every coach would say to defend his club. However, he is not a lawyer, he doesn’t know the procedures that leaded to this ruling. A wrong decision by the FIGC has been overturned. I think what happened is in line with the principles of equity and justice,” De Laurentiis concluded.
