Paolo De Ceglie is hoping for an injury free 2011-12 after his fitness issues at Juventus last term.

The left-sided player only made seven appearances in Serie A during the past campaign after fracturing his kneecap in October's 2-1 win at Milan.

"The first target for next season is to not get injured," stated the former Italian Under-21 international.

"After two years of finishing in seventh place, we want and need to do more, for ourselves and especially for our fans who have always supported the team."

There have been more changes in Vinovo this summer after boss Gigi Del Neri was replaced by Antonio Conte.

Although both tacticians employ 4-4-2 tactics, there is a difference in their footballing philosophies.

"The full-back plays a key role for Conte," De Ceglie, who can be used in defence and midfield, noted.

"The full-back actively participates in the action and we're trying to understand the Coach's requests.

"We're working both collectively and specifically according to the compartment.

"The midfield wingers will be more offensive compared to last season, and the full-backs perhaps will show less superimposition but more support of the action."
