Gigi De Canio's Lecce were torn apart by Milan in the season opener, but he is confident they won't suffer the same fate tonight.

“There have been some changes in our squad from that day,” he said of the 4-0 thrashing.

Gigi De Canio's Lecce were torn apart by Milan in the season opener, but he is confident they won't suffer the same fate tonight.

“There have been some changes in our squad from that day,” he said of the 4-0 thrashing.

“Back then we had to pay a certain price for our first game, as many of our players had never been in Serie A and needed time to adapt.

“It is also true that Milan have changed, as they are now more solid and can combine substance with quality. We must try to limit our errors as much as possible and hope to put them under pressure.”

Lecce are fresh from a 2-1 victory away to Lazio and De Canio believes his men excel against the top sides.

“When you face one of the big clubs, there is less responsibility on your shoulders, because they have to take the initiative.

“My team has reached the balance I was looking for and now we must maintain it. Regardless of the result, our performance must give us confidence for the remaining games in the season.

“After all, Milan are difficult to beat, but not impossible. In terms of pure finishing power, I think Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the most important player in Serie A.”
