“It’s very special for me, the first home game. We want to send a good signal to our public and supporters. I’m looking forward to it, the whole team is excited too, as we want to impress the home fans,” the Coach told Inter TV.

De Boer only had one competitive match in charge, losing 2-0 away to Chievo.

“We trained well this week, had good training sessions, so I think we made one or two steps forward. We’re not where we want to be yet, but I am confident we’ll see a stronger Inter tomorrow.”

The Nerazzurri also saw the draw for the Europa League group phase, paired with Sparta Prague, Southampton and Hapoel Beer-Sheva.

“It’s a nice group. Prague are always a difficult team to beat, they play technically. Southampton are coming up over the last couple of years in the Premier League, so are not to be underestimated.

“Hapoel are the ones we don’t know much about yet, but they beat Olympiacos and that’s a side that went into the Champions League for eight or nine years in a row, so must be strong.”
