Frank de Boer explains “it wasn’t easy” to replace Roberto Mancini at Inter – “I couldn’t be like a bull in a china shop”.
“Italy were World champions in 2006 and they decided to call a Coach straight from Holland,” De Boer explain to NOS.
“I certainly couldn’t go in like a bull in china shop, a Dutchman who comes in and wants to explain how things are done.

“For that reason, I’m moving step-by-step. It wasn’t easy to come in, I had to take the place of an Italian Coach [Mancini].
“That means there’s a lot of pressure on you, everyone looks at you with their mouths open.”
However, De Boer has found some positive things at Appiano Gentile.
“There are really winners here, I don’t have to push them to do things like when I was at Ajax. A simple game of handball is seen as a pleasure here, whereas at Ajax they saw it as a nuisance.”
