Italy’s World Cup squad have had a day of rest as they prepare to fly out to Brazil this evening.

Cesare Prandelli’s team were held to a surprise 1-1 draw by Luxembourg yesterday evening and, following the match, they transferred from Perugia to a Rome hotel.

There they spent last night and today ahead of their chartered flight from Roma Fiumicino airport, scheduled to take off at 23.00 BST.

While the players were relaxing however, Azzurri Coach Prandelli was at work with his staff as they watched the DVD of last night’s encounter with the minnows. They also finalised plans for the next stage of the team’s World Cup preparations, which will take place after their arrival in Rio.

The Azzurri are due to touch down in Brazil early tomorrow morning, with their first match at the tournament taking place against England next Saturday.
