The 25-year-old reflected on a season of progress for him on a personal level and for Torino, who surprisingly reached the Europa League last 16.

“Personally I think I’ve improved a lot thanks to facing players of international quality,” Darmian told Tuttosport.

“This was an important season, with a gradual and steady growth.

“With patience Toro have got back on track, both in Europe and in Italy. Now we want to end the season in the best way by earning as many points as possible.

“What will I do? First I want to finish the season, there are still two big games to play. We'll talk calmly with the club when the season is over.”
