The Nerazzurri are feeling confident after maintaining their status in the Scudetto race with a victory in the Derby d’Italia away to Juventus.

“Straight after the game, we felt happy to have won against a strong team, especially because we learned that by suffering together we can achieve great results,” D’Ambrosio told Inter TV.

“This enthusiasm passed us by quickly, though, because we already started focusing on Verona. Today we are facing a team every bit as good as Juventus.”

Giovanni Simeone is the star striker, supported by Gianluca Caprari, while Antonin Barak is again out through illness.

Lautaro Martinez sits out a ban for Inter, but Stefan de Vrij is back in the starting XI after a calf injury.

“We attack and defend with 11 men, so we need to have that spirit of sacrifice as a team. Verona play a very particular type of football, they take men on all over the field and it will be a match of individual duels. Whoever wins more of those will get the three points,” continued D’Ambrosio.

This is the first Inter home match since the COVID regulations were eased and stadiums returned to 100 per cent capacity.

“Over the last two years, the fans have always made sure we felt their presence, so we can only thank them for that support.”
