The full-back arrived on loan from Manchester United, without an option to buy, although the two clubs are open to discussing it in future.

“Milan and Manchester United are both big clubs and I hope to continue gathering valuable experience,” he said in his press conference.

“I am a player who likes to work hard and try to improve himself. I’m trying to maintain my qualities and also improve those areas where I am lacking, both when defending and attacking. This is the right place to do that and I can sense the right mentality.

“I hope to become a complete player at Milan. I felt very motivated when I signed for Milan and right now my mind is 100 per cent on Milan. I hope we can achieve all our objectives here.

“As soon as I heard Milan were interested in me, I was very happy. I’m satisfied that I chose this club.”

Dalot was in the stands for Saturday’s Derby della Madonnina, which saw the Rossoneri beat local rivals Inter 2-1.

“Just walking into the stadium, I was speechless, as there were so many fans outside supporting the team. We heard the cheers after the goals and they waited for the team after the game too. I can’t wait to see San Siro when it’s full of fans.”
