Patrick Cutrone celebrated his 20th birthday today as Milan’s top scorer. “It’s an honour to wear the jersey of the club I’ve loved since childhood.”

Although the Rossoneri spent big on strikers including Nikola Kalinic and Andre Silva this summer, it is youth product Cutrone who leads the way with nine goals in 24 competitive appearances.

“It’s an honour to wear the jersey of the club I’ve supported since childhood. I love these club colours,” he declared on Milan TV.

“It’s an honour to wear the jersey of the club I’ve supported since childhood. I love these club colours,” he declared on Milan TV.

His most recent goal was the extra time winner over Inter in the Coppa Italia Quarter-Final at San Siro, which saw him practically burst into tears.

“My celebration was spontaneous, as I could hardly believe it. I didn’t know what to do, then ran to embrace everybody. I keep thinking back on it, that was the best goal of my life.”

Cutrone has been compared to Milan legend Pippo Inzaghi, as he’s a fox in the box poacher.

“My movements are based on the desire to score, so yes, I guess so. I am pleased that the fans like me, but I haven’t done anything yet. This is just the beginning.

“I try to always give more, in every game and every training session. I don’t care much about records. I have a good rapport with Suso, as when he passes the ball, I always know where it will end up.

“Manuel Locatelli is more or less my brother, as we spent 10 years together almost every day in the youth academy and in away games. He’s my brother now.”
