Fiorentina forward Patrick Cutrone insists coach Beppe Iachini ‘knows I will always do my best’ after having scored the equaliser in the 96th minute against Hellas Verona.

The former Milan forward came on for Franck Ribery after the break but had to wait until the last second to help the Viola claim a point with 1-1 against the high-flying Gialloblu.

“Scoring in the 96th minute was exciting, we were all good because we put our heart into it. We wanted to equalise at all costs,” Cutrone told DAZN.

“Thank God the goal arrived. I compliment [Federico] Chiesa for the spectacular ball he passed me.”

Fiorentina have struggled since the resumption but Cutrone thinks this could be the springboard to pick up further wins before the end.

“We hope to get more results,” he added. “I’m happy because we were showing our character. We needed that against a strong team like Verona, who are having a great season.”

Cutrone hugged Iachini after the match and explained that he knows the coach trusts him to deliver.

“We had spoken before the match, he knows me and knows that even if I don’t start, I always come on to give my best.

“I hope to continue like this and still help my teammates."
