“I am already very fond of Fiorentina and want to repay them for the faith they showed in me. I have many dreams I want to achieve wearing this jersey and I’ll do everything I can to make them come true.”

The Viola star man is veteran France international Franck Ribery, so what’s it like playing with the former Bayern Munich hero?

“For all of us, playing with a teammate like Ribery makes everything feel easier. He always knows where to put the ball, he creates the right moment. He’s world class, both on and off the pitch.

“He has so many strengths, but if I have to pick one, I’d say the way he dribbles with the ball at his feet. He is able to get past defenders with extraordinary ease.

“Franck sets the example and arrives early to every training session. You don’t last this long at that level without that hunger and determination. He pushes us to never be sated, to work hard as it’s the first day every time.

“We are well aware that Fiorentina are a better team than the statistics would suggest and we want to prove it.”

Cutrone was one of the Serie A players who tested positive for COVID-19 during the lockdown.

“Scoring my first goal after the illness was like a weight off my shoulders. It wasn’t easy to stay out for such a long time, with so much uncertainty. I’m just happy that I can give my contribution to the team now.”
