Fiorentina and Juan Cuadrado are reportedly still €1m apart in suggested wages for contract talks otherwise seen as heading in the right direction.

The Colombian has been in talks with the Viola over a new deal since it became apparent towards the end of the summer that a move to Manchester United or Barcelona would not be forthcoming.

Whilst indications are that an agreed buyout clause will be inserted, Tuttosport today report that wages still remain an issue.

The Turin publication reflect that where Cuadrado previously had a rise from €600,000 to €1m, he is now asking for a new salary at €3m.

Fiorentina are believed reluctant to sanction this and are instead negotiating at an initial €2m level with bonuses then included.

Whilst there is this discrepancy, Tuttosport still suggest negotiations are heading in the right direction.

Meanwhile, sporting director Eduardo Macia did comment briefly on the player’s mindset yesterday evening: “The boy has a contract with us and is calm.”
