Pavel Nedved has waded into the Juventus-Roma debate with sharp criticism for Giallorosso captain Francesco Totti.

The 38-year-old commented after the Week 6 fixture that ‘by hook or by crook’ Juventus win the League, inferring that the refereeing decisions generally fall in the Turin club’s favour.

“I respect Totti because he is a great champion, but his words have made me angry,” Juve director Nedved has commented this week on Tiki-Taka.

“He never got to play for a team as big as Juventus and for this reason he does not understand what it means.

“If you work or play for Juve, everyone is against you. And I say more – this also affects the attitude of the referees who happen to be afraid to award something in our favour.

“If the captain of my team says what Totti has said on the sixth day of the championship, I do not know if he would remain my captain.”

The former Czech Republic international then commented on the episodes of controversy.

“The contact between Holebas and Marchisio? For me it is a penalty, there is a push.

“While no-one on the field figured out why the referee whistled, there was contact between Lichtsteiner and Totti.

“The foul on Pogba? To talk about centimetres it seems ridiculous to me – Rocchi saw Pogba is on the line and decided to blow for the penalty. For me it is a resounding penalty.

“Can one argue the League is distorted after six rounds? If something else happens from here, what do we do? And I tell you that Rocchi is one of the most talented referees we have in Italy.

“Replays in the field then? I am not in favour, as it will considerably lessen the beauty of football. It should be regulated in the right way as otherwise it will not be football.”
