Sampdoria will be without Andrea Coda for at least six months, as he’s suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
The defender was stretchered off after just 21 minutes of the weekend’s 2-2 draw with Napoli, and it has now been confirmed that he suffered ligament damage.
“Additional tests performed on Andrea Coda have unfortunately confirmed the severity of the injury suffered by the defender at Napoli on Sunday evening,” the Blucerchiati confirmed in a statement.

“On Friday, the centre-back will undergo surgery, which is necessary because of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
“The biggest ‘good luck’ to you, Andrea, a Sampdoriano is always stronger than anything and everything.”
