Bryan Cristante warns Italy ‘don’t have much time to feel sorry for ourselves’ at the World Cup failure, as they fought back to win 3-2 in Turkey.

The Roma midfielder equalised with a header after Cengiz Under had nutmegged Gianluigi Donnarumma to open the scoring in Konya.

Giacomo Raspadori’s brace then turned it around before another Donnarumma error allowed Serdar Dursun to make the final result 3-2.

Having said that, the goalkeeper also made two splendid reaction saves on Hakan Calhanoglu and Dursun.

“We did well to react to their goal, as it was not easy in a packed stadium with a fiery atmosphere,” Cristante told RAI Sport.

“It was important that we show a strong reaction after that bad start. We had to put in a good performance and turn the page straight away.”

Portugal have booked their spot at the 2022 World Cup after beating North Macedonia 2-0 this evening with a brace from former Udinese man Bruno Fernandes.

“We are disappointed, but we know in football there isn’t much time to feel sorry for yourself,” added Cristante.

“We’ve got to reboot and we know that we are a strong team.”
