Domenico Criscito’s agent “can rule out” the possibility of his client leaving Zenit St Petersburg for Inter.

The Italian international has been linked with a return to Serie A in the January transfer window, with the Nerazzurri seen as the most likely destination.

However, Criscito’s representative has told ItaSportPress in no uncertain terms that the defender will stay in Russia.

“Inter being interested makes sense, because Criscito is a top player,” Andrea D’Amico pointed out.

“But at St Petersburg there’s no notion of a sale. He’s the captain of Zenit and Coach Mircea Lucescu has so much confidence in him.

“I can rule out Criscito leaving Russia, in fact I’d say it’s 100 per cent certain that he’ll remain at Zenit.

“Mimmo is happy in St Petersburg, the club has his heart and the fans are behind him.”
