Criscito was ruled out of the tournament when he was served with a notice of investigation by Cremona magistrates at Italy’s Coverciano training ground.
Bonucci is thought to be pulled into the betting scandal, but has not yet been handed his notice of investigation by the Bari magistrates.
“There is no difference between the accusations levelled at me and Bonucci, as they are exactly the same thing,” Zenit defender Criscito told Rai Radio 2.
“Receiving a notice of investigation does not mean you are guilty. Both Bonucci and I deserved the chance to play for Italy.
“Cesare Prandelli said if things had improved over the next few days, he might’ve been able to take me to Poland, but it was clear not much was going to change.
“I am confident that sooner or later the truth will come to light. I was punished simply because I was in a photograph, as I was explaining to fans why things went badly against Siena.”
Criscito met with Genoa ultras during his time there and was photographed at the meeting with one of the alleged betting syndicate members, who the defender assures he had never met before.
